Annual Adventure Trip ready to go!

Following last year's format, our trip this year will start out in Warren, ME where we'll stay from Friday (8/13) night until Tuesday. Then we'll fly and/or drive to Merrymeeting airport in Bowdoinham, where we'll stay until Friday, and then go to Twitchell's airfield to join the Auburn/Lewiston balloon festival that weekend. So, here it is in a nutshell:

8/13 (Fri) to 8/17 (Tue) - Ed Grennel's field (Warren)
8/17 (Tue) to 8/20 (Fri) - Merrymeeting (Bowdoinham)
8/20 (Fri) to 8/22 Sun) - Twitchell (Lewiston)

From each of these places, we'll be taking day trips - meaning we have destinations that are from 15 to 30 miles away, and we'll fly there and back (after refueling, probably). Lots of great places to see along the coast. Of course, everything is subject to weather.

Again, as usual, we'll be camping at each of these locations thanks to the hospitality of the field owners (Ed G. in Warren, Mark B. in Bowdoinham, and somebody at Twitchells - Mike T. and Steve G. have set that up - Thanks!).

Anybody from the club is welcome to join us on this trip - stay for the whole event, or come join us for a day or two or a day trip or two. We always have a great time!

Contact John G. (207-852-7300) or Jerry S. (207-691-3800) if you have questions or need better directions than what's available under the "Directions" tab on the left.

Ed's field is on Route 1, just about 1/4 mile north of where Rt. 90 runs into Rt. 1 (in Warren). It's on the right (traveling north on Rt. 1) - look for a large green water tower (I think it's water???)

There have been a number of people contacting us lately to get orientation rides in a powered parachute, and several MPA members who need biennial checkrides. This will be an excellent opportunity to do both those, as there will be two CFI's available most of the week, as well as a number of our club members who can give introductory flights.
