Merrymeeting Airport Fly-In

The weather didn't cooperate for flying Friday night, but the sky stayed nice and calm until noon on Saturday. Most of the pilots managed to fly a few times before the winds picked up - a real treat!

A great view of some of the members setting up their planes for take-off.

The little ones even found time for a little romance!

...and when the winds picked up, the stories began!

hmmm... is his reaction to the MPA good, or bad?

A big thank you to Mark for hosting us - he sure knows how to make us feel welcome. On Sunday, Ray took him for his first PPC flight and we hope he's hooked!

Never a dull moment when kids are around!

Knox County Fly-In

Despite ending early due to gale force winds, the first "real" fly-in for 2009 was a great success. Perfect temperatures, no bugs to be found, minimal winds, and a picturesque sunset followed by a moonlit night made for happy pilots and equally happy spectators!

...and when the winds picked up around mid-day, the boys did their second favorite fly-in activity: gawk and talk.

...and even the youngest spectator got wrapped up in all the excitement!

Bill Green's Maine - PPC Style!

Bill Green came out to Limington Airport to watch John, Randy & Dirk fly and interview them for an upcoming story. Be sure to watch the show on May 2nd - the MPA will soon be really famous (or infamous?)!

Randy and John do a low pass for the camera.

The "Gobel Roll" tradition gets passed on - no matter what the age!

Phippsburg School Presentation

The Phippsburg Elementary School invited the MPA to come and talk about how much fun it is to fly low and slow. John G showed the kids some video clips, pictures, and talked about the best way to fly. It was a great opportunity to introduce the sport and get some more people interested... too bad the kids will have to wait a few years before they're legal to fly!
